Editorial Roles and Responsibilities
The Editor-in-Chief oversees the journal’s editorial direction, scientific standards, and publication ethics, and is responsible for final editorial decisions, except where a conflict of interest requires independent handling.
Editorial Board Members contribute to journal development and undertake editorial assignments within their areas of expertise. Their responsibilities may include assessing manuscript suitability, selecting independent reviewers, evaluating reviewer reports and author responses, and recommending editorial decisions.
The International Editorial Advisory Board provides advice on the journal’s scientific scope, editorial development, and international engagement. Advisory membership does not automatically confer responsibility for handling manuscripts or making publication decisions.
The Journal Manager coordinates administrative workflows and communication. Production Editors manage copyediting, formatting, metadata preparation, and publication production following editorial acceptance. Marketing and technical staff support dissemination and platform operation.
Editorial Independence and Conflicts of Interest
Editorial decisions are based on scholarly merit, methodological quality, ethical acceptability, and relevance to the journal’s scope. Publication fees, promotional activities, and institutional relationships must not influence acceptance decisions.
Editors must disclose relevant conflicts of interest and withdraw from handling affected manuscripts. Submissions authored by an editor or editorial board member are assigned to an independent, qualified editor and undergo the journal’s standard external peer-review process. The author-editor takes no part in reviewer selection or editorial decisions concerning that submission.
